Complaints about Disability Services Commissioner:

DSC is committed to upholding the principles of the Disability Act 2006 and to improving outcomes for people with a disability through the effective resolution of complaints.

Given the complexity and highly individual nature of our work, we understand that there may be times when people are not entirely satisfied with the service they receive from us. Any person using the services of DSC has the right to complain about those services and the way in which they are provided.

As part of our commitment to providing a high quality service, we actively encourage feedback from people who are dissatisfied with, or wish to comment on the service they have received from us. Our complaints processes reaffirm our commitment to our values of being accessible, person centered, responsive and accountable.

We are committed to:

    • dealing with each complaint in a fair, objective and unbiased manner
    • focusing on how the problem can be resolved
    • using the information to improve our services, and
    • ensuring that the person making the complaint is not in any way disadvantaged in relation to future services they may require from us
