DSC on Plenty Valley FM

5th July 2016

Deputy Commissioner Miranda Bruyniks was on Plenty Valley FM last week, talking about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rollout and how people can still make complaints to Disability Services Commissioner (DSC).

Listen to the interview on Soundcloud

If you missed the interview, these are some of the key points that the Deputy Commissioner brought up in the interview:

  • The NDIS is a revolutionary change to the way that people with a disability receive their support, giving them more choice about how, when, where they receive support.
  • DSC takes complaints about disability services. This service is independent, free and confidential.
  • DSC wants people to have the confidence and the capacity to speak up, to make complaints about things they are unhappy with.
  • Under the NDIS rollout, DSC will still take complaints about Victorian disability services funded through the Department of Health & Human Services, the National Disability Insurance Agency and the Transport Accident Commission.
