National Reconciliation week 2020

Image has some decorative elements, with the words In this Together

27th May 2020

The Office of the Disability Services Commissioner acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We acknowledge the traditional owners of country throughout Victoria and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is an invitation to all Australians to celebrate and deepen the bonds with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme ‘In This Together’ tells us that every one of us has a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.

At midday on Wednesday 27th May, join Indigenous Australians across the nation by posting a video of an acknowledgement of the country you are on with the hashtags #InThisTogether2020 and #NRW2020.
